It seems like only days ago we were preparing VOLO #4, my first issue as Editor in Chief, and yet so much has happened between then and the completion of #5. The issue you’re holding right now marks a continuation of the transition from the old VOLO to the new. In the (seemingly) brief time between issues we have been working hard to build our team and update our website, we’ve started a Flickr group and increased our social media presence on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. The word “VOLO” has internally started being used as an adjective as in “that’s so VOLO!”
We’ve only just begun, but are already seeing results form our efforts. We’ve connected with dozens of photographers, models, stylists, artists, and readers like you, all enthusiastic about the direction VOLO is going. The submissions we recieved this go-round were from a diverse international pool of very talented photographers and models, representing the highest overall quality so far. As more people discover VOLO we expect this trend to only continue.
On the pages that follow you’ll become acquainted with the Marlene and Katharine, glamorous and enchanting ladies with whom I’ve had the privilege of working. There are some deliciously edgy photos of model Johannie Valdez photographer Michael Joseph Edmonds; and from the gritty city is D. Andrew Jackson and Ariel. Canadians Ahmed Sirry and Glambox let us have a peek into their sexy worlds north of the border with Naked Instruments and Stefanella, respectively. Reputed landscape photographer Steven Miller and Steph take us on a tour of the Pacific Northwest – with a naked twist!! Meanwhile Russ Freeman & Artemis present on a thought provoking and movingly beautiful and artistic black and white contribution. And the very talented Ivan Ramirez whose artistry I have been a follower and admirer of for some time, has us ‘Bound for Beauty.’ Finally there’s Ukrainian model Anna Grigorenko whose illustrious international career has her appearing in GQ, Playboy, Maxim and other magazines and websites world wide – and now she’s on the cover of VOLO #5.
VOLO wouldn’t be anything without you, so if you have anything to say, suggest, rant on, worship, or just want to introduce yourself please join us on one (or all) of our social media platforms – even drop me a line directly via email through our website if you are so compelled.
